Re-engage an inactive customer with a Wallet notification
14 days, 30 days, near a reward: how automatic Apple and Google Wallet nudges bring customers back without email spam.
A customer who doesn't come back hasn't necessarily forgotten your business: they've forgotten they had a card. Wallet notifications land on the lock screen, where attention already is. Here's how to use them without being intrusive.
Why Wallet instead of email
Email gets lost in the inbox. A Wallet notification is tied to a card already installed: the message has context (your store, the balance, the reward). Perceived open rates are often better, especially for regulars.
Three useful triggers
- 14-day inactivity: a gentle reminder, no pressure.
- 30-day inactivity: a slightly stronger message, optionally with a one-off offer.
- Near a reward: "one more visit" converts better than a generic promo.
Good writing habits
Short, concrete, time-bound in spirit. Avoid vague phrases. Prefer "You have 1 stamp left for a free coffee" over "Come see us soon!". The customer should know what to do in one read.
With KARD
KARD automations (from the Pro plan) send these messages according to your rules. You stay in control of the copy; the system handles targeting and timing.
